Iannis Delatolas is a Greek photographer, born in Germany and based in Paris. Raised in a working-class family in Athens, he moved to New York at the age of eighteen, where he lived and worked for more than thirty years. There, he became part of New York's downtown art scene and was influenced early on by photographers such as David Armstrong and Marcus Leatherdale.
Delatolas has presented solo exhibitions in New York at Kouros Gallery, the Italian Academy at Columbia University, and the Chocolate Factory Theater, as well as at the Greek Embassy in Washington, D.C.
His work has appeared in group exhibitions in the United States and Europe, including the LGBT Community Center in New York, and in publications such as Brooklyn Photographs Now and New York: A Photographer's City (Rizzoli), as well as The First Time I Met Frank O'Hara: Reading Gay American Writers by Rick Whitaker (Four Walls Eight Windows, 2003). In 2001, he collaborated with Robert Wilson on the opera Prometheus, incorporating compositions by Iannis Xenakis.
Since relocating to Paris, Delatolas has developed a series of long-term photographic projects exploring landscape, memory, and political history. His recent work examines how unresolved histories continue to shape the contemporary world through the photographic image.

Iannis Delatolas est un photographe grec, né en Allemagne et installé à Paris. Issu d'un milieu ouvrier à Athènes, il s'installe à New York à l'âge de dix-huit ans, où il vit et travaille pendant plus de trente ans.
